Study Tips

The books of Psalm and Proverbs hold many truths that can be relevant to us
today.  Some of us however may not know just how to access those truths.  I
would like to give just one suggestion.  Read over the book of Psalm and
Proverbs every month and here is how. On the first day of the month, read Psalm
1, 31, 61, 91, 121 and Proverbs 1. Then the second day read Psalm 2, 22, 62, 92,
122 and Proverbs 2. And then just continue on through the month.  In February
you may want to read a few extra chapters at the end of the month and in the
months with more than 30 days you can read Proverbs 31 and you might want to
re-read some of the Psalm and Proverbs that stuck out to you or just take some
time to praise God for the truths that He is revealing to you.  This is just a
suggestion.  Tailor it to your specific needs and study habits.
If you have missed any parts of multi-
part devotions, please send a
request to the above e-mail address
and we will send it to you via e-mail,
or leave your name and address and
we will mail it to you.

What Does Love Mean?

This comes from www.crosswalk.com where a group of 4- 8-year-olds were asked,
"What does love mean?" Here are some of their answers:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore so
my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis, too. That's love."
Rebecca - age 8.

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name
is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and
smell each other." Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making
them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to
him, to make sure the taste is okay." Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be
together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they
kiss." Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate." Nikka - age 6

16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these children are saying ?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes ;
have you never read, 'OUT OF THE MOUTH OF INFANTS AND NURSING BABIES YOU HAVE
PREPARED PRAISE FOR YOURSELF'?" Matthew 21:16. (NAS). Be blessed.

Confess and Believe

Do you believe that your words carry with them some weight or authority? Did you know that
your words have great authority in this earth? Did you know that your words can mean the
difference of whether you go to Heaven of Hell? Let’s look at what the Apostle Paul wrote in
Romans:
9Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your
heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved. 10For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and
so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares
openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. 11The Scripture says, No man
who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be
disappointed. 12[No one] for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord
over all [of us] and He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith]. 13For
everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved. 14But how
are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom
they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon
Him] of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? 15And how
can men [be expected to] preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
those who bring glad tidings! [How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of
His good things!] Romans 10:9-15. (Amplified).
So, if you can speak it with your mouth and
believe it in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God, the Father raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved. Then you will be in a position to bring others to the Lord. Dive deeply into
the Word of God and see the mysteries that He has hidden there just for you. Be blessed.
